THE VERDICT. The RocLite 315 is Inov-8’s all-around trail model, designed to handle technical terrain but stay comfortable enough for long days on the trail and ultramarathons. It has impressive ground-feel and aggressive tread, but the uppers and midsole are stiff and inflexible. The result is a shoe that feels clunky and unwieldy instead of
The density of midsoles with this level of resilience tends to be firm and so Inov-8 have added their Boomerang insole. This gives the shoe a soft initial feel and has a high rebound. The heel to forefoot drop is 6mm so the ‘TRAILFLY ULTRA G 300 MAX’ can be used by a heel or midfoot striker with equal comfort.
Of the party is Inov-8’s Graphene Grip outsole and metatarsals following geometry. At about 10.25 oz / 290g in a US9, the weight is in the hunt for substantial trail shoes of its class. I have been a long time fan of Inov-8, the first brand to really start as exclusively trail running focused.
inov-8 TrailFly Ultra G 300 Max trail running shoes review: a perfect combination of durability, grip and performance The inov-8 TrailFly Ultra G 300 Max is a long-lasting, hard-wearing trail shoe offering high comfort and performance levels, and excellent grip on rocky terrain
. Fourth pair of Inov-8, I normally buy their trainers such as 195, 240, 252, and 335, didn't know what to expect with their road shoes. Roadtalon 240 are surprisingly comfortable, fit to size, and offer plenty of room in the toe box. The shoes are breathable, thus my feet stay dry throughout the run. They are my new favorite.
The traction is absolutely fantastic, they are light, responsive, yet cushioned and very comfortable. I haven't tried the lighter Inov8 shoes (Talon and so on) since I am really not used to minimal shoes (used to road running with asics nimbus) but these are really a fantastic compromis between light trail shoes and road running shoes.

Big mistake. I have run for 34 years and thought INOV-8 was the best shoe yet after trying almost all others, but the precision fit is terrible unless you have a very narrow foot. So get this shoe while it lasts as it is being discontinued. If INOV-8 does not continue to offer a standard fit shoe they will have lost a customer.
